[Basics] Muse Name: Wendy McClellan Muse Journal: exstupidteen PB: Emilie de Ravin
[Appearance] Wendy McClellan is very pretty, and very short (she's about 5'1). She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is fairly in shape, thanks to her consistent morning walks with her husband, Erik. She tends to dress casually, jeans and t-shirts, though always makes sure to dress up for church.
[History] Wendy moved to Mayhill, Nebraska when she was six, from yet another tiny town, and has lived here ever since. She was the good little Christian girl who never really got in trouble, and though she had a small group of good friends that she would talk to and hang out with the most, she got along fairly well with most people. In high school, not much changed. She stayed the same nice, though a bit behind on the times, girl that most people got along with. She started dating one of her good friends, Erik, during Sophomore year, and dated him through the rest of high school. During her Junior year she had a lot of doubts and questions about her faith, and it was a very dark time in her life. She pulled through it, thanks to her friends and her pastor, and managed to find many of the answers to her questions. You know those stupid teenagers who get married right out of high school? Wendy was one of those. She married Erik during the summer that they graduated. She started working at the library, and he moved around from job to job, eventually ending up the youth pastor at First Presbyterian Church. They're both happy with their jobs, even though it means that they don't have much extra money.
[Personality] All in all, Wendy is a nice person. She is highly compassionate, and if someone else starts crying, she will start crying, too. She is the type who has to change the channel during the commercials about adopting dogs or sponsoring a starving child in a third-world country, because, otherwhise, she will probably end up doing that. (In fact, she's already sponsoring a little girl in Taiwan because of one of those commercials.) She is a worrywart. It's something that she never really talked about, she just sort of worried about things until they were settled, but she's getting better about that. She's talking more with Erik about her worries, and they pray about it together. She's also fairly out of touch with more recent culture because she doesn't watch TV. Or play video games. Or go on the computer. Every once in a while she'll hear something from a conversation, but other than that, she's pretty much clueless. And she's really okay with this! She spends her time with friends, family, her work at the library, volunteering at church, reading, etc.
[Personal Life] Wendy works at the library. She's the person you ask when you need to know where a book is. She knows where to find them, and makes good small talk while doing so. She likes making friends, so if you've gone to the library ever, than you probably know who she is. She goes to the First Presbyterian Church, and is one of the Sunday school teachers, along with taking part in many of the charities they have. In general, she loves making new friends, so she knows a good amount of people in Mayhill. She always tries to meet new people whenever she can. She and her husband live in a small house that they just manage to afford. It itself isn't very nice, but they've managed to make it a home.
[Writing Sample] "Mrs. McClellan?" For a very short moment, Wendy cherished the feeling of being called that. Somehow, the good feeling that came from it hadn't worn off yet, even though she and Erik had been married for five years. She turned to see Matthew, a fairly shy fifth grader who spent his free time in the library. "Yes, Matthew?" He looked scared, and she was very confused, until she remembered that one of his library books had been due the other day. "I--I've got my library book. It was due yesterday, and I meant to bring it, but I forgot 'cause Ryan invited me to play soccer with his friends, an'--" "It's okay." Wendy interrupted, stopping his run-on sentence, "One day doesn't count as late." His eyes widened in surprise, "It doesn't?" "Not with library books, at least." Relief washed over his face, and he smiled back at her, handing her his library book, "Thanks!" "You're welcome." |
